The 2015–16 Ligue 1 season was the 78th season of the Ligue de Football Professionnel first division since the league was founded. Paris Saint-Germain won their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title. They won by huge 31 points difference.
Lyon finished second and qualified for Champions League group stage. Monaco finished third. They reached 65 points alike Lyon, but Lyon had better goal difference. Fourth Nice qualified for Europa League. Lille and Saint-Étienne qualified for Europa League qualifying. Reims, Gazélec Ajaccio and Troyes were relegated to Ligue 2.
Angers were playing very well in the start of the season. Promoted team was second after 18 matches. Second team Lyon did not start well. In the half of the season, the club finishing second was on the ninth place in the table.
Zlatan Ibrahimovič
became the league top scorer. He scored 38 goals, 17 more than second Alexandre
Lacazette. Third Edinson Cavani scored 19 goals. Ángel Di María assisted on 18
goals. Paris Saint-Germain recorded biggest win. 9:0 against Troyes. Club with
highest attendance of spectators (44,338 average). 2.53 goals were scored per
match.

Paris Saint-Germain bought Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla for £28.56m. Jesé is playing for Real Madrid cost the club £21.25m. David Luiz left the club last England transfer window day for £32.73m. He came back to Chelsea, where he was playing in years 2011-2013. Top scorer of the season Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United for free.
Marseille acquire Newcastle midfielder Rémy Cabella for £6.80m. Michy Batshuayi left club for £33.15m. Spurs bough left winger Georges-Kevin N'Koudou for £9.35m. Lyon´s centre back Samuel Umtiti joined Barcelona for £21.25m. Monaco bought Djibril Sidibé from Lille for £12.75m and Benjamin Mendy for £11.05m. Wolverhampton Wanderers bought their right wing Ivan Cavaleiro for £6.80m. Lille bought Euro 2016 finale goalscorer Eder from Swansea (£3.83m). Sofiane Boufal left the club for £15.90m. Lorient sold Didier Ndong to Sunderland for £13.60m.
