The 2015–16 Süper Lig is the 58th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. Besiktas won their 14th title in club history, first since 2008/09 season.
Besiktas won the league with 79 points. They qualify straight for Champions League group round. Their rival Fenerbahce finished second with 74 points. They have to fight for Champions League in qualifying round. Konyaspor recorded 66 points, finished third and achieved Europa League group stage. Fourth Basaksehir and fifth Osmanlispor enter Europa League qualifying round. Former champions Galatasaray ended up sixth. Sivasspor, Eskisehirspor and Mersin were relegated.
Besiktas striker Mario Gómez became the top-scorer of the league. He scored 26 goals. Former Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o scored 20 times, Hugo Rodallega scored 19 times. José Sosa assisted on 12 goals. Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel kept clean sheet in 17 games. Osmanlispor were not beaten in 14 consecutive games.
Transfer window
Champions gained Porto´s striker Vincent Aboubakar on loan, same as Brazilian Talisca. Barcelona´s defender Adriano joined the club for 600 Th. €. Caner Erkin, Gökhan Gönül and Gökhan Inler joined the club for free. AC Milan bought their midfielder José Sosa, Gökhan Töre was loaned to West Ham. Fenerbahce bought Liverpool´s centre back Martin Skrtel for 6,00 Mill. €. Gregory van der Wiel left PSG and joined the club for free, same as Ismail Köybasi and Aatif Chahechouhe. Jeremain Lens and Moussa Sow joined the club for free. Valencia bought Nani for 8,50 Mill. €.
Galatasaray bought
centre back Serdar Aziz (4,50 Mill. €), striker Eren Derdiyok (4,00 Mill. €)
and midfielder Tolga Cigerci (3,00 Mill. €). Nigel de Jong joined the club for
free. Ankara bought Bournemouth forward Tokelo Rantie for 1,80 Mill. €. Tranbzonspor
purchased Ogenyi Onazi playing for Lazio (3,50 Mill. €). Gaziantepspor bought
two Viktoria Plzen players – Daniel Kolar and Frantisek Rajtoral.
