The 2015–16 Swiss Super League, also known as Raiffeisen Super League for sponsoring purposes, was the 119th season of top-tier football in Switzerland. Basel won the title in seventh consecutive season. It was their 11th title in last 15 years and 19th in club history.
Basel qualified straight for Champions League group stage. Young Boys finished second with 14 points gap. They qualified for Champions League qualifying. Lucern finished third and enters Europa League qualifying, same as fourth Grasshoppers. Vaduz, the 8th teams of the table won Liechtenstein Cup and enters Europa League qualifying.Zürich won Swiss Cup and enters Europa League qualifying, but they finished last with just 34 points and were relegated.
Grasshopper´s striker Moanes Dabour became the top-scorer by scoring 19 goals. Guillaume Hoarau scored 17 and Marc Janko 16 goals. Moanes Dabour assisted on 12 goals.
Transfer window
Champions bought centre back Éder Balanta for £2.98m and midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi for £2.72m. They got AS Roma striker Seydou Doumbia on loan. Talented winger Breel Embolo left the club for Schalke 04 (£19.13m). Grasshopper purchased young Ajax player Lucas Andersen for £1.28m. RB Salzburg bought the top scorer of the league Munas Dabbur for £5.10m. Their right back left the club too. Rubin Kazan bought Moritz Bauer for £3.40m.
Lausanne-sport bought Panama striker Gabriel Torres from Venezuela club Zamora. FC Sion sold two crucial players. 20 years old Edimilson Fernandes will play for West Ham next season (£5.44m). Centre back Léo Lacroix moved to Saint-Étienne for £2.55m. St. Galen bought Roman Buess from FC Thun for £1.11m. Young Boys purchased forward Michael Frey from LOSC Lille (£425k). Young Right back Florent Hadergjonaj joined FC Ingolstadt for £1.70m.
