Turkish Süper Lig Süper Lig is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top level of the Turkish football league system. League is ranked 10th in Europe according to UEFA's ranking of league coefficients, which is based upon Turkish teams performances in European competitions in last 5 years.

The champions of Süper Lig qualify for Champions League group stage. Team, which ended up second in the table, have to fight for Champions League in qualifying, third team enters Europa League group stage. Europa League qualifying enter fourth and fifth teams. Last three clubs are relegated to PTT 1. Lig. League is competed by 18 teams. Teams play two matches against each other. One home and one away. 34 games each.

The competition formed as the Milli Lig in 1958.A total of 67 clubs have competed in the Süper Lig, but just 5 have won the title. The most successful team is Galatasaray with 20 titles. Fenerbahçe won title 19 times and Beşiktaş 14 times. Hakan Şükür is all-time top scorer. He scored 249 goals in 487 appearances. Second is Tanju Çolak(240/281), third Hami Mandirali (218/477). Oğuz Çetin made most appearances (503).

Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş are the best Turkish clubs. They are usually occupying higher place in the table. Last season,Beşiktaş won title 5 points ahead Fenerbahçe. Last season champions Galatasaray ended up sixth. They won´t play in any European competition next season. Mario Gomez scored 26 goals in 33 games and became the top scorer of the league.
