The 2015–16 Serie was the 114th season of top-tier Italian football. Juventus succeeded in defending their title for the fifth consecutive season. They won the league 32 times.
Juvenstus experienced nightmare start of the season. Their first win came in fourth game. They were 12th after 10 games. But then they did not lose in 26 matches.
Gonzalo Higuaín broke 56 years old record. He scored 36 goals. Paulo Dybala scored 19, Carlos Bacca 18. Paul Pogba and Miralem Pjanić assisted for 12 goals. Verona recorded 22 winless games in a row.
Transfer window
Current champions were very potent during summer transfer window. They bought Gonzalo Higuaín for £76.50m, Miralem Pjanic (£27.20m), Marko Pjaca (£19.55m), acquired Medhi Benatia on loan and Barcelona´s right-back Dani Alves for free. Paul Pogba became the most expensive player in football history. Manchester United bought him for £89.25m. Álvaro Morata and Roberto Pereyra left the club as well.
Napoli replaced Higuaín with Arkadiusz Milik playing for Ajax (£27.20m). They purchased another polish player - Piotr Zielinski (£11.90m). AS Roma bought Brazilian youngster Gerson and Chelsea´s right wing Mohamed Salah. Alberto Paloschi from Swansea joined Atalanta (£5.10m). Marten de Roon left the club for £12.75m fee.
Wolfsburg bought Fiorentina´s Mario Gómez (£5.95m). Inter Milan bought Antonio Candreva from Lazio for £18.70m. Ciro Immobile joined Lazio (£7.23m). Striker Franco Vázquez left Palermo (£12.75m). He will be playing for Sevilla next season. Sampdoria bought Belgium player Dennis Praet (£8.50m). Three £10M + players left the club. Monaco bought Kamil Glik from Torino (£9.35m).
