The Austrian Football Bundesliga is the highest-ranking national league club competition in Austrian football. Since Austria stayed in sixteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2015–16 season, the league gained its first spot for the UEFA Champions League. Current name of competition is Tipico Bundesliga.

Hans Rinner is president of the Austrian Football Bundesliga. The Bundesliga champion enters the second round of qualification rounds for Champions League. The most successful club are Viennese giants Austria Wien and Rapid Wien. Rapid won title 32 times and Austria were lucky ones 23 times. The current champions are Red Bull Salzburg. It was their third title in a row. In total, they won league 10 times. The Red bull company bought the club in 2005.
The all-time top scorer is Hans Krankl with 270 goals in 361 appearances. Second is Ivica Vastić (187/441), third Peter Pacult (186/396).

reasons, The Austrian Football Bundesliga changes its name. In years 2011-2014
it was tipp3-Bundesliga. Before that, the competition was called T-Mobile
Bundesliga. On the start of current century, Innsbruck ruled the Austrian
football. They won title 3 times in a row.
