The Belgian First Division A is the top league competition for association football clubs in Belgium. League is officially known as Jupiler Pro League. Competition is contested by 16 clubs and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Belgian First Division B.
Teams after 30 match regular season run enter play-offs 1 or play-offs 2 according to their position in the regular season. In play-off 1, also knowns as title playoffs, play top 6 clubs in the regular season. Teams plays with each other twice. Team with the most points after play-off 1 is new Belgium champion. Teams ranked 7-15 are divided in two groups. Each group is contested by 6 teams playing each other twice. In play-off, teams start with half of their points gained in regular season. The 16th team is relegated to Belgium First Division B.
